Specificaties
In de neus frambozen en zwarte bessen, florale tonen en “cherie-kersenbonbon”. In de mond geconcentreerd sap (bes, braam, framboos), milde kruidigheid (munt) en tabak en zoethout. In de mond ontwikkelen tonen van zwarte olijf en een pepertje zich; de grenache voert het geheel aan. Levendig en vitaal, fraaie structuur en diepte. De tannines zijn soepel; de wijn is compleet en indrukwekkend goed gebalanceerd. De finale komt jeugdig over en is overtuigend in haar puurheid. Een waanzinnige, intense Châteauneuf-du-Pape met goede bewaarpotentie met een verfijndheid die in deze appellatie schaars. Koesteren dus. Drinken vanaf 2023. [april 2020]
Jacqueline André is het gezicht achter de voortreffelijke wijnen van Domaine Pierre André. Dit domein met oude stokken (tot over de 100 jaar) schakelde als eerste in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in 1980 over op biologische wijnbouw en is sinds 1992 officieel biodynamisch gecertificeerd. De wijnen zijn zeer zuiver van postuur en tonen veel karakter. Jacqueline is een voorstander van lagering op beton en is uiterst bescheiden met het inzetten van hout. Met name haar rode Châteauneuf heeft enige tijd nodig om in balans te komen en begint zich vaak pas na 4-5 jaar fleslagering zich in alle volheid te tonen; de witte versie drinken wij graag jong en puur.
John Livingston (www.drinkrhone.com): “There are multiple prompts on the nose, a great start – red damson plums, spices, musky trails, a sensuous aroma. This bouquet will be a whopper, very well upholstered, the second half is spiced, fat and delightfully gourmand. There’s a flexible chomp to the tannins. The balance is super good, the length very sure, and the clear finale is another bonus. This has great fruit, way to go. It’s just peeking out now. [february 2019]
(vat, bottling Sept 2018) attractive red robe. The nose has a stylish breadth, a line-up of clear red fruits, all in order, good potential, some pastille element in the fruit. The attack is tasty, flows well with richness on roller skates. This is sumptuous, a real knife and fork wine that comes with very good floral trimmings, elegance. There is wavy gras on the finish. This is mega tasty, and the balance is good. [februari 2018]
